WineStone Group and Ravasqueira Nominated for the 2026 Wine Star Awards

WineStone Group and Ravasqueira have been officially nominated for the 27th edition of the prestigious Wine Star Awards, presented annually by Wine Enthusiast. The two nominations recognise the Portuguese wine group in two areas that are increasingly important to the future of the industry: sustainability and winemaking excellence.

WineStone Group is nominated for Environmental Advocate of the Year, while Ravasqueira is one of five European wineries shortlisted for European Winery of the Year. This marks the first time a Portuguese group has received two nominations in the same edition of the Wine Star Awards.

Wine Star Awards: international recognition for the wine industry

Now in their 27th edition, the Wine Star Awards recognise companies, professionals and organisations making a significant contribution to innovation, growth and excellence across the global wine industry.

Presented by Wine Enthusiast, one of the world’s leading wine publications, the awards celebrate the people and organisations helping shape the future of wine through quality, innovation, vision and impact.

Against this backdrop, WineStone Group and Ravasqueira’s nominations are particularly meaningful. While they recognise different areas of achievement, both reflect a shared ambition for sustainable growth, a strong connection to the land and the international recognition of Portuguese wine.

WineStone Group nominated for Environmental Advocate of the Year

The WineStone Group nomination for Environmental Advocate of the Year recognises the group’s commitment to placing sustainability at the heart of its growth strategy.

With an annual production of around 12 million bottles, WineStone has continued to strengthen its international presence while maintaining a long-term approach to natural resource management, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

Wine Enthusiast highlights the group’s research projects focused on water reuse and water management, its transition towards organic viticulture, Integrated Production certification, and the implementation of a long-term sustainability roadmap, including ESG audits across its supplier chain.

Ravasqueira nominated for European Winery of the Year

Based in Portugal’s Alentejo region, Ravasqueira has been nominated for European Winery of the Year, recognising its ability to bring together heritage, terroir, innovation and a forward-looking vision.

Set within a property of approximately 3,000 hectares, Ravasqueira’s identity is deeply connected to the Alentejo landscape. Over the years, the estate has focused on exploring and showcasing different grape varieties and producing wines that reflect the diversity of its terroir, while investing in precision viticulture, innovation and sustainability.

Wine Enthusiast also highlights Ravasqueira’s hospitality experience and its ability to turn visits to the estate into an opportunity to discover wine and the Alentejo territory.
